Re: 500 Server error on parse or raw HTTP post (xml)
Just thought would follow-up. Problem stems from the Flash file created is not setting contentType to "text/xml" and was using "application/x-www-form-urlencoded" (the default). So clearly for large packets CF 8 wants proper content type, which I agree with 100%. So getting company to fix their application. 500 Server error on parse or raw HTTP post (xml)
Have a situation where a 3rd part commercial application is sending, from Flash, a raw XML post (no key-value pairs). Most of the time it works, but we just encountered a situation where a 30k post is causing a 500 error. I seen the error online before, but no resolution. So my thought was to somehow intercept the post prior to java parsing. does anybody know of a way to do this and still maintain the Coldfusion session? I have tried onRequestStart() but that seems too late. thanks Kevin ~| Want to reach the ColdFusion community with something they want? Create CF web service to return a PDF file
I am trying to determine if I can create a web service that generates a PDF document. Then call the web service to return the PDF. Here is the basic web service I wrote test On the calling page I just do a basic cfinvoke. The data returned is binary, but not sure how to get it to render as a PDF. I've tried and nothing happens renders. Any help would be much appreciated. CFHEADER and Cache-Control
Hi, I am wondering if anybody has used CFHEADER and the following Cache-Control settings to successfully eliminate the IE 6 flicker bug when using CSS background image loading? In my case the page is being loaded into a frame (yeah I know framesets suck, but I didn't do it) I have implemented and it does not seem to work. I really don't want to have to rewrite the code to use traditional image rollover. Thanks Kevin ~| Logware (www.logware.us): a new and convenient web-based time tracking application. Re: Coldfusion classic.cfm debug display issues
Yeah , I was thinking of modifying it. Just wasn't sure if anybody else had the issue and had solved it. I'm lazy, hehe. But actually its my second question on multiple instances in J2EE environment and no debug output that is a bigger issue. One of our team asked at CFUnited about the issue and was told its a know issue. Though I have not seen it on MM's site. So wondering if there is a workaround to get the debug information to display. Performance of using a lookup query
I have a CFC that has a function that builds a query statement dynamically. Part of the specific function loops over the data passed and sets the values. In doing so it checks to see if data if of a specific type. Part of that check involves looking at a property table defined like so; fieldname |fieldtype myfield |varchar2 My question is having CF make constant calls to this lookup query is that going to have a significant impact on performance? On average the dynamic query will have to loop over about 10 -20 fields, thus calling the lookup that many times. Also the function itself may be call 10s of times a day possibly even in the hundreds. My though is to Cache the lookup query so each result set is cached. Eventually the lookup may get moved into Oracle just not right now. Does that seem reasonable or does someone have a better suggestion for performing the lookup to get datatype (maybe query or query solution). thanks. ~| Discover CFTicket - The leading ColdFusion Help Desk and Trouble Ticket application http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=48 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:4:190827 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/4 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:4 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.4 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54

Passing form data to CFC, Array or Structure
Hi, I am trying to decide which method to pass form data to a CFC that is going to add the data to a DB. My form field names are not the same as the database fieldnames so I need to pass the following; formfield name | database fieldname | formfield value So Was going to do an Array but was wondering if doing a nested Structure wouldn't be easier. Performance is a minor issue. Any thoughts Thanks Kevin [Todays Threads] [This Message] [Subscription] [Fast Unsubscribe] [User Settings] [Donations and Support]
