Re: CF Studio Projects

2001-01-25 Thread Paige Chandler

Hi Guy,

Yeh! They send me an -mail several times a week. The one I got yesterday
indluced the Monitors but the IBM pc. I guess they base it on the last thing
I look up there.

Problems at NIMH. Their looking for a new project for me. GOVT just dropped
the one I was hired for. Stay tunned. Have a nice day.

Just wanted you to know you are not alone. I have screamed exactly what
you
say on every known forum I can think of and they
ignore it. I loved the projects in Studio 4.0 and they totally broke it. I
once posted about the problem on the beta forums and actually got an
email
reply from someone at Allaire. I went into copious detail and sent actual
project files that were now slow and unworkable.
I never heard from them again.

Good think you never tried either, Russel. It would have ended in tears
before bedtime. The project function doesnt work well and so far as I

Here's the limitation: Project worked brilliantly in Studio4.0.1 and I

uploaded the entire project every time, and if any folders weren't

Thanks for the warning. I will remember it well.

That is just poor design. As much as I dislike MS products, VSS (Visual
Source Safe) has been remarkably stable. I only had problems when I
integrated it with CF Studio.

As far as I can tell, 4.5.0a and 4.5.1 and 4.5.2 have all come out and

We can only hope. I am actually considering looking for some of the other
IDEs that support Cold Fsuion.

Dreamweaver is a nice tool for layout, but you really can't do much with the
CF code. I have been stuck with Studio.

Mine hasn't been too bad, but I don't run a lot on my machine besides some
server components.

Re: CF Studio Projects

2001-01-24 Thread Michael Kear

It wouldn't be so bad if it was a shareware prog I paid $20 for, but
Studio sells in Australia for more than $1000 - that's more than Microsoft
Word and a **LOT** more than even Adobe Photoshop. And they want $385 for
a renewal of the subscription.

For that kind of money, I expect it to bloody well work, and for that kind
of subscription, I expect to get support and I expect to get updates
before the non-subscribers. I expect to be able to get updates sent to
me automatically without having to swing on the phone a dozen times and I
expect to get bugs fixed, not made worse and left to rot over 3 versions.

Did you know that even in the release they had on Allaire's web site for
4.5.1 there was an invalid DLL that caused the program to crash Win9x
systems when you closed Studio? Think I could get them to admit it was in
their release? It took a dozen phone calls before I got a support guy
who was brave enough to admit it, and he told me to delete the dll and use
one that was in the older version. That corrupted dll stayed in the
release for at least 6 months, because I downloaded it for another system
and it was still there.

They charge like Adobe and Microsoft on steroids, but I'm
afraid when it comes to Studio, they code like my son's high school class.

But I quite like the server product g
