CF5 on Win2k3
Anyone messed with removing CF5 from a Win2k3 box and if so was there anything special you had to do to get it off? We plan to remove it from some of our boxes and put a clean install of CF8 on them. I have seen the note from Adobe on how to put it on and just assuming we work backwards on that. http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_18689 -- Aaron Rouse http://www.happyhacker.com/ ~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;203748912;27390454;j Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/message.cfm/messageid:309192 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.4
CF5 on Win2K3 fun
Having some fun with getting CF5 set up on Windows 2003. Followed the guff in the following MM technote http://www.macromedia.com/go/tn_18689 to get things underway but the problem I've got is that the CF service won't stay running. Attempting to start it just tells me that it starts and then immediately stops. Server log gives me the following, which is about as useful as a kick in the teeth Error attempting to start the service. If I try to start the service as an application rather than a service, I get the following message Error occurred while trying to initialise the service: A problem was encountered trying to access the system registry. Error number 2 occurred - The specifed registry key does not exist Anyone seen this, know how to sort it (other than with a hammer)? RE: CF5 on Win2K3 fun
You've already gotten a lot farther than I ever did with installing CF5 in W2k3/IIS6. The compatibility problems were the leverage I finally used to convince the Powers That Be to upgrade to CFMX. It isn't all that expensive- especially when you factor in the time and hassle you're putting in to make CF5 work. RE: CF5 on Win2K3 fun
Weird. I installed CF5 on two 2003 Servers without any problems. When I installed the only message I got was not compatible, but I installed it anyways. Followed the MM tech notes and that was it. They have been upgraded to CF MX now. -Original Message- From: Matt Osbun [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, April 26, 2005 6:59 AM To: CF-Talk Subject: RE: CF5 on Win2K3 fun You've already gotten a lot farther than I ever did with installing CF5 in W2k3/IIS6.
