CFMXE7: controlling Verity

2006-10-23 Thread Maureen Barger
Hi - We seem to be having trouble with the Verity engine. Do we need to
write a wrapper script to start and stop it at the same time cf is started
and stopped? I am finding that it continues to run when cf is stopped, and
loses its connection to cf once cf is restarted, and has to be restarted
as well.
Thanks.

Hey Maureen -

I've posted here a couple of times about a Verity issue I'm having in
a multi-server CFMX7 install. The issue I'm seeing is that the Verity
service doesn't seem to start when the system is booted (fortunately
this is a development machine and no customers are reporting this in
production). The error I get in my Event Viewer is:

The ColdFusion MX 7 Search Server service failed to start due to the
following error:
The pipe state is invalid.

Judging from the lack of response I've gotten, no one else is seeing
this or, at the very least, no one understands it any better than I
do.

If you have any insight or discover any new information, please share.

Thanks.
