Re: Can CF be run on a Cobalt RAQ 3?
Can a Linux version of Cold Fusion be run on a Cobalt RAQ 3 (512 megs of RAM)? Is it advisable? Are there advantages going this route vs. an NT machine? I've tested CF Linux and have been very happy with its behavior. What database are you using? Anyone using "mySQL"? How well does an NT CF application port to Linux? Thanks as always. RE: Can CF be run on a Cobalt RAQ 3?
I'm using MySQL and Sybase on my development server. Both are working very well. The biggest "gotcha" in moving from NT to the Unix ports is that the Unixes are fully case sensitive. You'll have to check occurences of CFINCLUDE and CFMODULE, along with a couple others for proper case. Also, non-java CFX tags are not compatible, and will have to be ported. Michael J. How about Solaris 8 on x86? Now that it's (almost) free, it is more attractive than both Linux or NT.
