Can someone Explain this Error Message
I am getting an error message which states: Branch target offset too large for short The first line of the stack trace reads org.apache.bcel.generic.ClassGenException: Brnach target offset too large for short The error message will appear when I include the following line and if I comment out this line I will not get the above error message. cffile action=Append file=C:\#Variables.Filename# output=\cell\pard\plain \intb1\1trpar\s1\qc{\*hyphen2\hyphlead2\hyphtrail2\hyphmax0}\aspalpha\rt1ch\af5\afs20\lang1025\ltrch\dbch\af3\afs20\langfe255\loch\f5\fs20\lang1033 addnewline=yes I have also copied this line above from another section which is identical as I am creating an RTF File which contains a School Report Card which is apart of my Coldfusion Based Student Information System. Re: Can someone Explain this code
CBA never equals 4 (1,3,5,7...) so the CFEXIT tag is never executed. This means that the inner loop always executes fully. An indexed loop will execute until its index value is = to the TO value. In this case TIMEX never equals exactly 30 (2,12,22...), so goes to 32 before the inner loop is exited. - Original Message - From: Asim Manzur [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: CF-Talk [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, November 01, 2004 8:17 AM Subject: Can someone Explain this code The following code display 32. IsNumeric weirdness - can someone explain this?
Here's the test code: - cfset myvariable = 3D1 cfoutput p#IsNumeric('3D1')#/p p#myvariable#/p p#IsNumeric(myvariable)#/p /cfoutput This returns: Yes 3D1 Yes - WTF?!? Shouldn't I be seeing No, 3D1, No? Is it evaluating 3D1 as a binary or hex value of some kind? Why is it passing an IsNumeric test? I'm running 4.5.1SP2. Interestingly, 3A1, 3B1, 3C1, and 3F1 all fail, but 3E1 produces the same result. Evan, Thanks for wasting my time! ;) Well I had to figure out why the heck this was happening, and I found out it's because it's assuming the value is written in scientific notation. I haven't been able to find out WHY d works just like e (exponential notation as in 24e-2 = 0.24), but it seems to do the same thing: cfset myvariable = 24e-2 cfoutput p#IsNumeric(24e-2)#/p p#myvariable#/p p#IsNumeric(myvariable)#/p p#Val(myvariable)#/p /cfoutput returns: YES 24e-2 YES 0.24 cfset myvariable = 24d-2 cfoutput p#IsNumeric(24d-2)#/p p#myvariable#/p p#IsNumeric(myvariable)#/p p#Val(myvariable)#/p /cfoutput returns: YES 24d-2 YES 0.24 Notice I added the Val() function in there, which made me arrive at the conclusion that CF is treating the D the same as E and is using it as an exponent. -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 You have two tags with the same name. Since CF searches the custom tag directory in alphabetical order, the BrowserCheck.cfm in K_Tags will be called, but there's no way to access the one in the R_Tags directory. CF finds custom tags by starting in the CustomTags directory and recursing its way through. CF found two copies of BrowserCheck.cfm (one in K_Tags and one in R_Tags), and the error message is meant to alert you that the first one (K_Tags) will be the one used to handle requests made through "CF_BrowserCheck". In other words, the first file will occlude the second.
