Re: Cold Fusion and Wireless Devices

There is one more URL I want to add to this list. I attended the Maryland
CFUG CFun 2K (which was awesome) and Charlie Aerheart gave a good
survey/introduction presentation on WAP. Check it out:

2000-09-21 Thread Jared Clinton

Jeffry,

If you are talking about WAP (Wireless application protocol) using WML
(wireless markup language), then it is as easy as replacing the normal HTML
that we output using Cold Fusion with WML.

Check out phone.com for an sdk that will get you started with WML.

Jared Clinton.

Cold Fusion and Wireless Devices

2000-09-21 Thread Jeffry Houser

Someone asked me about writing Cold Fusion for wireless devices. I was left
not knowing how to respond. I haven't delt with this at all, and am fairly
ignorant on the capabilities of wireless devices. Is it possible? Is it
feasible? Why would I want to do it? How would I do it?

If my celluar phone (or Palm Pilot) can surf the web, then developing CF
applications would be no different than developing for a desk-top application,
except in the output of your data. Presumably you'd want to format it
differently for the smaller screen, but otherwise...

If anyone has insight, it would be much appreciated. If you want to
CC list responses to my e-mail address, I'd appreciate it.
