Re: ColdFusion Builder standalone vs. plugin
Sorry that made it sound like there is a difference when it comes to the express version, they are still the same product. Re: ColdFusion Builder standalone vs. plugin
Michael, to answer the first question, there are no differences until the trial expires and the express kicks in. Otherwise the 2 are identical products. It depends on your usage and mileage, but as Adam has responded with the 64Bit version runs a lot faster, and is only achievable via a plugin option for that. But the biggest advantage is if you begin using the likes of other Eclipse Plugins, like Mylyn to name one or mxUnit to name another. If you install as a plugin then there is no need to continue to reinstall these plugins each time there is a new version of ColdFusion Builder. Other than that, the one to use will depend on you. I've blogged my findings: http://adamcameroncoldfusion.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/coldfusion-builder-on-64-bit-is-really.html Not a comprehensive answer to your question, but perhaps enough to migrate. -- Adam ~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/message.cfm/messageid:355307 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/unsubscribe.cfm
ColdFusion Builder standalone vs. plugin
Is there any real operational differences between the two different implementations of CF Builder? Is there some feature in one but not the other? And to take the question a step further, if someone is running a non-licensed version of builder, will they find more features missing from one implementation of builder or the other? In the past I installed builder as a plugin and almost none of the CF features would work. It's was an older version so I'm hoping that it is no longer the case (I probably messed up anyway). Thanks for your insights and observations on this.
