Crystaltech session invalid error

2005-05-17 Thread James Holmes
On the CT forum some people have mentioned that their 6.1 servers are
now showing session invalid errors, even though they are using a session
timeout of 20 mins as per the J2EE and CF Admin settings. Is anyone here
having that problem? I'm looking at hosting options now and I don't want
to get into a host that's having problems.

LOL I'm with hostmysite and the security there is nonexistent. JSP is
enabled and they don't sandbox datasources at all, meaning anyone can
read anyone else's code and alter their databases.

JSP runs outside of the CF security sandboxing model and allows full
acces to the server. I am able to traverse the entire server using a
single JSP file.

MM writes about this here:

JSP is enabled by default on CFMX and the CF Sandbox cannot restrict
access to JSP functionality, hence on shared hosting it's a potential
security risk, i.e. disable it.

Crystaltech session invalid error

2005-05-17 Thread Mary Jo Sminkey
On the CT forum some people have mentioned that their 6.1 servers are
now showing session invalid errors, even though they are using a session
timeout of 20 mins as per the J2EE and CF Admin settings. Is anyone here
having that problem? I'm looking at hosting options now and I don't want
to get into a host that's having problems.

To reply to this original question, yes I have recently been seeing this on the
6.1 server I am on at Crystaltech. The previous discussions I believe revolved
around problems on CF7, and tech support was of no help, as the problem was
intermittent and they would only look into it if I could give them the exact
steps to reproduce. I ended up putting some extra error trapping on my site, so
at least if a customer runs into it, they get a message about what to do (close
the browser and then start again). I haven't run into it myself in the last few
days, so maybe someone there that has a clue go it straightened out.
