Yep. It's a virus. I just got word on it from my network admin.
Apparently, it attaches a .vbs file disguised as a jpg (filename.jpg.vbs).

Thank goodness the listserv filters out attachments. Thanks Michael!

Yes, this 'was' a virus. Yes, the list ate it up and spit it out. Yes your safe
as far as the list is concerned but DO NOT GET COMPLACENT. If the virus was
sent to the list then it was send be someone who has posted (two people,
actually). They may also have your address in their address book. Therefore, be
careful of what you open especially when it comes to attachments. Have a safe
day. :)

OT: Sttrip attachments - Re: Here you have, ;o)

2001-02-12 Thread WebMaster

I know it's off-topic, but since we're talking about it. Isn't there some
easy way to strip all attachments with a .vbs extension in MS Exchange? You
wouldn't think it would be very difficult code to write, but it doesn't
seem to be possible. Maybe they've added this in Exchange 2000?

Anybody know?

Thanks,

Mike Perdue

Esp as it's a variant of the "Check This" virus...

Most Anti-Virus software companies now have the info on this, so not keeping
