Check out the newest version of Robocopy... Version XP010. It has
some new switches that I think you'll find useful.

Thx guys for the info on RSYNC. Luckily, I have dabbled enough with robocopy
and know it pretty well and have that as a separate process for backing up
data.

I guess my big concern in the immediacy of these changes on the servers. My
clients sometimes don't have 5/10 minutes for propogation because when my
make a change they want to see it instant. I know it sux, but unfortunately
this is beast that I tackle every day. :(

Rather than copying files from your workstation to three clustered servers
via Dreamweaver, you might copy files to one server which would then
synchronize its filesystem with the other cluster members. You might look at
rsync or robocopy for this. Ideally, though, you wouldn't want to edit
production files directly from within Dreamweaver, either.

An ANT script would allow you to do this fairly easily, but as others
have said, you would probably better off using something such as rsync
that happens at the operating system level on the server itself.

RE: Load Balancing Tools

2005-02-28 Thread RADEMAKERS Tanguy
check out rsync - you can set it up to automatically copy from one
server to the other two. You deploy to one server and the changes are
propagated to the other two. If security is an issue, rsync can work
over ssh.

Load Balancing Tools

2005-02-28 Thread Ricky Fritzsching
Does anyone know any Dreamweaver extensions of third party tools that make
managing load balancing a little easier?

I currently have of three servers that are LB and everytime I need to make a
static change I have to upload to three different sites in Dreamweaver. I am
planning to write a cfftp script that will help me as well, but I just
wanted to see what else was out there.

Thx!
