Matt, I have to say you've bristled me a few times but I have to admit you post some very interesting and relevant stuff, thanks. Nfaq.com is using a mix of html and asp. Maybe it used to be CF or maybe some buried pages are CF, but everything accessible from the home page appears to be ASP or HTML. But I don't see how they're related to MS anyways... Shawn, I was just about to say "nice catch" when I noticed you're from the company running StubHub. Still very kewl that you have a supported MS site running CF, even though it may not be a completely MS official site (about as close as you can get though). Since you are from the site host, can you elaborate on how this came to be? Was the underlying technology ever discussed with MS? RE: Microsoft Web Site Running Cold Fusion
I don't know if any of you have seen them, but Microsoft ran a series of television commercials bashing Unix. They partnered up with Unisys and created a marketing campaign trying to draw people away from using Unix as their server platform, saying it was too difficult and didn't scale (!) and that the MS product was better. Unfortunately their geeks must have disagreed because the website that they set up to sell people on the idea was run on FreeBSD. Slashdot caught it and posted it (http://bsd.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=02/04/02/130234&mode=thread&tid=122) It was quickly and quietly changed. I assume people were fired. I imagine that since then they have been very explicit that all of their sites need to use their technology. -Buddy -Original Message- From: Ryan Kime [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, August 15, 2002 12:10 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: RE: Microsoft Web Site Running Cold Fusion I think it's pretty much mandated that they "eat their own dog food". -Original Message- From: Corrine Clark [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, August 15, 2002 1:35 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: Microsoft Web Site Running Cold Fusion I am looking for a major Microsoft site that may be running Cold Fusion. What do you mean by major Microsoft site? Do you mean owned by Microsoft? Or do you mean one that caters to Microsoft users/developers? To add on to that post, you can always do a search on google.com for a file extension within a particular domain.
