The old logo was definitely much cooler hand holding lightning bolt is a
classic (in every sense of that word - Thunderbolt of Zeus/Jupiter...nice,
heathen smiting stuff) giving a clear message that you're playing with
power, so be careful and better know what you are doing.

To get rid of the hand is dumb - think of the implication: power without a
hand to wield it... pure chaos and mayhem I tell you... encouraging clueless
"baby's first cut and paste ASP page" types to bite off more than they can
chew - no good shall come of it! >(

And they better not tone down the blue color - no watered down sissy pastel

RE: New ColdFusion "logo"

2001-05-04 Thread Andrew Tyrone

The hand with the lightning bolt...

Gone...

What to do now? It'll cost me THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS to get skin grafts to remove
all the old ColdFusion logo tattoos on my body.

How could Macromedia do this? Time to reevaluate the product, I suppose...

How can they get rid of the hand holding the lightning bolt.

That kind of says it all really.

Coldfusion gives you the ability to strike out your web projects at a fast
rate but, at the same time it has alot of power.

Well, thats my interpretation.

Unresolved.
Seems like a first idea.
Has no interaction with the text.
For such a dynamic product, colour and layouts don't match.
Lighting is just a cliché (on its own).
Its a flash in the pan.
I showed him the 4.5 box and he said "Its (V5 logo) not progressive."

RE: New ColdFusion "logo"

2001-05-03 Thread Andrew Tyrone

Well if you look at the rest of Macromedia's product logos, the new ColdFusion 5 one
is design-consistent with them. Also, when Allaire bought JRun they did the same
thing -- created a new logo that was consistent with there current product logos. I
don't really care what the new logo looks like, as long as the product is better than
it was and works the way they say it will.

RE: New ColdFusion "logo"

2001-05-02 Thread Angel Stewart

Ehmm..

it looks weak to me.

I like the circular...expanding kinda cool cyber look on the box
It reminds me of the sun..but manages to look tech..the circles hint at some
sort of lensflare..

...but that GREEN lightning bolt looks totally out of place!

And for the flat blue logo..I dunno. I suppose if they put the lightning
bolt inside a circle it might look like something for a super hero? lol!

But how about a triangle...or overlaying it on a 5...or having it wrapping
around a 5..
I dunno..it just looks...well..like a flat blue logo ^_^

Neither of them is BAD though...
