New list perhaps?

2002-05-01 Thread BillyC

At least in the short term, most of the traffic has been about MX (cf,
dw, etc)

Would it be a good idea to set up a new list? (Maybe
[EMAIL PROTECTED]?) I think the biggest advantage of cf-talk is a
development resource, not a bug/gripefest. Don't get me wrong, I love
talking about/whining about upcoming releases, but I think it's in that
gray area between cf-talk and cf-community. Unfortunately, 4/4.5/5/etc
discussion has been lost in the mix the last few days.

I think it will die off after awhile ... the excitement and hype is the
driving force .. soon, it will change ... This is such a good group I would
hate to see it split up more.

I don't think it warrents a new list. The newness will pass and
besides CFMX questions will soon be CF questions anyway.

Re: New list perhaps?

2002-05-01 Thread Michael Dinowitz

The general consensus is that the MX stuff will slow down. Remember that the
announcement was just this Monday. It's only been 3 days and I've seen the 200+ extra
messages to the list drop down by half. I'd normally be happy to start up another
resource if I thought it would really be needed. The thing is, CF MX is just the same
as CF 5, CF 4.5, CF 4, and every version before it. The announcment comes out, the
list spikes, a request comes in for a new list, the spike goes down, life goes on.
I do have new lists coming up but they're more specifics like the WDDX one is (which
is changing to include XML, Soap, etc.).
