If you haven't disabled it...triple clicking will select all text in a text
area.

One click puts cursor at moust pointer.

Two clicks selects entire word (white space to white space)

Three clicks selects entire content of text area box.

At least in IE 6 on win XP.

I do this all the time in a content management form I've worked up.

an iframe isnt something that someone can type intoits just like a
frame, but its inline, meaning it can contain data and elements of
web pages, however it cannot be just typed into.

you would still have to use a textarea tag to do that...

An IFRAME is just like a normal frame, except that you can put it inside a
normal page.  It's not a text input field.  TEXTAREA is the beast you're
looking for.

You could hold down the [SHIFT] and [CTRL] keys and press [HOME] to select
everything from the cursor back to the top (or, press [END] to go to the
bottom) - alternately, just hold down [SHIFT] and use the cursor keys to
select the text you want... unless you have a JS function that's also
capturing keystrokes. :)
