RE: Access 2000 and SQL Server Issues???
What are the errors you get. - Steve -Original Message- From: Joshua Miller [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, September 15, 2000 12:39 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Access 2000 and SQL Server Issues??? How do you use Access 2000 to access SQL Server 7??? And are there any known ways to use Access 2000 dbs with CF Server 4.0??? I get errors every time I try to use a database I create in Access 2000, I can convert databases to 2000 and export tables to other databases with 2000, but if I make the database from scratch in 2000 it doesn't work. Any help appreciated. Hi, While our ISP (edgewebhosting.com in Maryland) does not allow us to use the enterprise manager, we are able to use the MS Access 2000 front end for SQL Server to access our data and to change tables...its a fantastic improvement over using an MS Access .mdb database. For instance, because we no longer have to fool around with downloading and replacing the database everytime we want to change a table structure (obviously we could use "Alter table" but that is a pain too.) We are also able to use the Query Analyzer (although curiously not the "perform index analysis feature). If you need any help getting set up using the MS Access 2000 interface to access your SQL Server database, just drop me an email. Eron __ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Re: Access 2000 and SQL Server Issues???
You should crate a link. first go into Control panel Administrative tools, then ODBC, set one up for your SQL server. then in Access Go File, Import link table type is ODBC and map to what you created. - Original Message - From: Cary Gordon [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, September 15, 2000 12:03 PM Subject: Re: Access 2000 and SQL Server Issues???
