RE: Ben Forta's CFX_Spell tag -- demo?

2002-04-22 Thread Dave Watts

We're considering the addition of Ben Forta's CFX_Spell tag
to our site, and while I don't doubt the complete awesomeness
of it, it would be really cool to take a look at it before we
plunk down the $$$. (We are, after all, a nonprofit.)

Anyone got a publicly accessible usage of it I could take a
 quick look at it?

Well, I'm not sure what you'd see, since it's server-side code. You can
write whatever interface you like to use with it. We've used it before (not
on any publicly available sites that I can recall though), and in general
have been satisfied with it, except that it's not thread-safe, so you'll
have to wrap it in CFLOCK.

RE: Ben Forta's CFX_Spell tag -- demo?

2002-04-22 Thread jon

Yeah... they're charging now, though. They actually would've been our first
choice, but I don't really want to have to monitor user sessions and
whatnot.

'Sides, our forums could probably burn through 10,000 user sessions in 2
months... we'd rather have something in house.

As it turns out, forta's tag comes with some working examples, so crisis
averted. Call off the dogs.

.. looks pretty cool, too.
