Cool. I fixed my config. today. I had to uninstall my JRE and re-install it. I have been using CFE most of the day and I'm mostly digging it. The color coder needs refining, I submitted a bug on it. I saw another color coding bug, but I lost track of it. The lack of line wrap in the editor is a real pain. I put my three votes in for that feature to get bumped up the list of enhancements. Shortcut keys. I haven't played around with the CFE features on this, but I really noticed quickly how much I depend on a handful of shortcut keys for my work. I will dig into it more and provide feedback. For those of you using VSS, I am using the VSS plugin and it works great for me. One other thing, more a OT question about Eclipse maybe. In HS+ you can write Windows Script Host scripts and tie them into the IDE using shortcuts, etc. I have one that I use to insert a comment with my initials and the date. How would I go about re-creating something like that? I'd write a bunch of stuff in it if it was quick enough to do, something like WSH. Believe it or not, that features *is* in there. However, sometimes it's hard to find. Try saving your document first, CFE rebuilds the document structure when you save. Then it should be as easy as right-clicking on your tag to get the "Open/Create File" option. If you find any bugs with it, join the CFEclipse users list or add a bug to the issue tracker. I'm getting a file check error when I try to unzip the Windows version. Just downloaded and extracted it fine from here. I'm guessing that you're having some sort of proxy caching issues. ok, I used 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) to create it and told it to use zip format and maximum compression. It could be that the XP default unzipper doesn't handle very high compression ratios too well. I did test that on my machine, but it could be that the 7-zip libraries are used instead of the default windows ones. In any case, if you are able to, I'd suggest installing 7-zip. It's free, suppports multiple zip formats and is way faster for zipping and unzipping. If more people are having the same issue I'll put up another one with less aggressive compression. OK so I'm anxious to give this a shot, especially with this new "one stop shopping" bundle you set up. When I try to launch eclipse.exe it tells me "JVM terminated. Exit code=2". Through Google I see this means I have more than one JVM on my machine and I should ditch all but the most recent. Is that accurate? Um, I downloaded this, no problem unzipping, but it appears to contain an entire eclipse install, some 43M+, with phpeclipse and not cfeclipse. I also found it would not use the XP zip or V-Com (formerly Ontrack) PowerDesk. Hi Dave, I think you might have got your wires crossed. This is a bundled package including Eclipse, cfeclipse, phpeclipse and a few other generally useful plugins. A new nightly build of cfeclipse should be available in the next week or so. I am very tempted to get involved, but I will be the first to admit that desktop Java development is not my forte and I have very little real knowledge of the Eclipse platform. However, my company uses Eclipse as both an IDE and a client platform for our products, so I have every motivation to get involved. I am going to check out what is involved. Excellent! Feel free to fire me questions off list any time you like. I'd suggest taking a look at a few of the articles on http://www.eclipse.org and getting familiar with the general architecture. Once you've done that, go right ahead and grab the source code from CVS. If there's a bug or feature you'd like to work on give us a heads up first and we'll see if anyone's already done anything. If anyone is having problems with this I suggest simply re-extracting the files. I had a previous installation of eclipse I forgot to remove before extracting the files, so when I started it up it didn't want to work for me.
