RE: Cache trouble or something

2003-08-21 Thread douglas . kronenberger
You are absolutely correct. DW was locking up so I re-installed. I hastily
re-setup the site settings and I think I didn't specify a local site or
something. Anyhow it turns out I was making changes to some local pages in
My Settings/Bla/bla that I never intended to set. Phew! Now there's 4 hours
of my life I'll never get back.

I swear DW is getting slower and flakier. I find myself going into Homesite
more and more often.

Thanks

I've never seen the cf-server cache pages like that (showing the cached page
even after deletion) -- could be browser possibly or the other thing that
always turns out to be the case for me when this happens is that I'm editing
the code in the wrong directory or on the wrong server.

I don't know what happened but the other day it did. Now when I change
the code on a page, the old version displays when I test that URL. I
can even rename or delete the page and it still displays when I test
that url.

What in the Wide Wide world of Sports is going on here?

I thought it was some sort of funky caching thing so I've turned off
the server and restarted it. Same thing.

I hate when these little space time continuum shifts happen.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

On CF 6 or 6.1 ?
Delete the classes directory, and sort the time/date on the server/your upload
box out.

Thanks. I had a multitude of issues going on. Somewhere in the mix I did
upgrade to 6.1. I'm all better now. For the moment.

We have indeed seen this caching after delete/rename thing happen on CFMX -
*not* 6.1 but vanilla CFMX. It kept serving up foo.cfm after foo.cfm was
deleted - probably something to do with the related .class file in the
web-inf directory. What version of CF you running?

I don't know why the old version still showed for you after saving an
update. No clue...just lettin you know you aren't the only one. We are happy
with RedSky though...running like a dream in this respect :-)
