Re: Createobject and Shared Hosting Providers
Thank goodness for that - that's what I get for just believing things others say without testing. I'm really happy to be wrong this time. I just confirmed that the createobject() java sandbox does indeed pick up the reflection technique using forName() as well, in CF 7.0.2 (and probably for 7.0.1 for all I know). RE: Createobject and Shared Hosting Providers
James - I believe this problem was fixed in 7.0.1. If you have Java object creation disabled in a sandbox, instantiation by reflection will also be disabled. -Original Message- From: James Holmes [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, November 29, 2006 11:52 AM To: CF-Talk Subject: Re: Createobject and Shared Hosting Providers Be aware that this does not disable Java object creation, as arbitrary java objects can still be created by the reflection method that Dan demonstrated a few days ago. Be aware that this does not disable Java object creation, as arbitrary java objects can still be created by the reflection method that Dan demonstrated a few days ago. There is currently no way of preventing java object creation on a CF server. Re: Createobject and Shared Hosting Providers
I thank everyone for responding. I agree with you, Andy. I only really need it for local CFC invocation and webservices. I can see why some administrators disable Java loading. I will be evaluating all of the choices provided thus far. I won't be skimping on price as create object is rather key to not only my projects, but the projects of my clients. Plus, I happen to like using open sourced framworks and create object is sort of key if I want to keep some performance gains. Re: Createobject and Shared Hosting Providers
We have it disabled by default - a decision of the datacentre admins, but whenver I set up a site for a coldfusion user i enable it and some other coldfusion functions, leaving very few tags and functions still disabled. http://afpwebworks.com Cheers Mike Kear Windsor, NSW, Australia Adobe Certified Advanced ColdFusion Developer AFP Webworks http://afpwebworks.com ColdFusion, PHP, ASP, ASP.NET hosting from AUD$15/month > > -Original Message- > From: Teddy Payne [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: 28 November 2006 19:36 > To: CF-Talk > Subject: Createobject and Shared Hosting Providers > > All, > Does anyone know of quality shared hosting companies that offer the > createObject method? > > Thanks, > Teddy > ~| Introducing the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. 80 pages of hard-hitting, up-to-date ColdFusion information by your peers, delivered to your door four times a year. http://www.fusionauthority.com/quarterly Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/message.cfm/messageid:261910 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.4

Re: Createobject and Shared Hosting Providers
If it's CF7 hosting then there's no reason why EVERY hosting company shouldn't offer it. As of CF7, you can lock down createObject by type, i.e. java, com, webservice On 28/11/06, Teddy Payne <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > All, > Does anyone know of quality shared hosting companies that offer the > createObject method? > > Thanks, > Teddy > > -- > > Adobe Certified ColdFusion MX 7 Developer > Atlanta CFUG (ACFUG): http://www.acfug.org > > > ~| Introducing the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. 80 pages of hard-hitting, up-to-date ColdFusion information by your peers, delivered to your door four times a year. http://www.fusionauthority.com/quarterly Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/message.cfm/messageid:261905 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.4

hostmysite.com does...just started switching clients over in the past couple of weeks and so far I am completely amazed at how good they are compared to our last host (we've used for 8 years and just stopped recommending).
