We're about 2500 people and have been happily using it for five years. We were, however bought by MetLife - and they don't use it. Lord knows why since we're done in CF faster and better than any project they've done in JSP (WebSphere) but there you go. I'm pushing for CFMX on WebSphere, but am not encouraged lately. I've also done CF projects personally for John Hancock and Litton-PRC - both very large companies. Jim, an interesting point is that IBM are marketing ColdFusion and actually did a series of seminars lately. I worked for Macromedia and recall meeting people from IBM who were very keen on being able to use ColdFusion for Websphere Application development. Here is the link to the IBM web site where they are pushing ColdFusion. http://www-3.ibm.com/software/webservers/coldfusionmx/ We also have a blog http://www.webapper.net with quite a bit of information about setting up ColdFusion on Websphere. Just do a search for Websphere there. Maybe MetLife will think about CF, hth. A few years ago as a contract programmer, I worked on a very large internal scheduling and reporting application for SBC written in ColdFusion with SQL Server. This is generally something that may nowadays be better served by a custom Peoplesoft/SAP/Siebel solution, but we really put out a heck of an application that is still being used and rolled out to different business units today - Jim - Original Message - From: Michael Greenberg [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: CF-Talk [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, November 19, 2002 6:29 AM Subject: Re: Large Corporations that use ColdFusion I know Bank of America uses it internally and it's used externally @ Peachtree Software... http://www.peachtree.com Also at my last gig I built a portal product that we sold to over 750 financial institutions that runs on CF S1 Customer Center - http://k2.secure-banking.com/0002.cfm Thanks, Michael - Original Message - From: David Groth [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: CF-Talk [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, September 11, 2002 8:58 AM Subject: RE: Large Corporations that use ColdFusion http://www.detroitlions.com As a Detroit Lion's (professional American football) fan, we often question whether they are actually a large corporation ... ;^) Dave Groth [EMAIL PROTECTED] 09/10/02 08:44PM Also the Montreal Canandiens for us hockey folks...all CF http://www.canadiens.com They've also got an in-house scouting application all done in CF..pretty neat... -Original Message- From: Douglas Brown [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, September 10, 2002 9:54 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: Re: Large Corporations that use ColdFusion You can also ad the site for the NFC Champion St. Louis Rams to the list Ben. So long as the developers NDA is honored, of course... Keeping in mind that this information might need to be verifiable, a number of fields would be required, and a client of yours getting a phone call about verifying their intranet might not make you look so good. I currently have a client that has forbidden me from mentioning the url, and it isn't even an intranet project. Just a word of caution about disclosing information that you might not be at liberty to such with. ~bgl -- -Original Message- -- From: Ben Densmore [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] -- Sent: Tuesday, November 19, 2002 8:31 AM -- To: CF-Talk -- Subject: RE: Behind closed doors was RE: Large Corporations that use -- ColdFusion -- -- I think the only way you could do it is to start a site or a section of -- a site where developers can submit the company name that is using CF for -- internal apps. -- -- Ben -- -- -Original Message- -- From: Mike Brunt [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] -- Sent: Tuesday, November 19, 2002 11:35 AM -- To: CF-Talk -- Subject: Behind closed doors was RE: Large Corporations that use -- ColdFusion -- -- This has cropped up before, one of the problems is many of these apps -- and -- internal and cannot be verified from outside. Parts of Duke University use it.. I'm not sure how many parts though. I know parts of the University of North Carolina use it too (more heavily, I think, than we do, actually). Progress Energy (which owns Carolina Power Light, Florida Power, and some other companies) uses it pretty heavily internally, and somewhat on their external site too (they're using TeamSite, and they do some custom stuff too for job postings and things). And before you say anything about Progress Energy not being a large corporation because you've never heard of them, they are Fortune 250 I think. =) (I used to work there) - Rick ~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=4 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribeforumid=4 FAQ: http://www.thenetprofits.co.uk/coldfusion/faq Signup for the Fusion Authority news alert and keep up with the latest news in ColdFusion and related topics. http://www.fusionauthority.com/signup.cfm

Eric, This link should help you a lot : http://www.forta.com/cf/using/ Olivier. Eric Carlisle [EMAIL PROTECTED]To: CF-Talk [EMAIL PROTECTED] cc: (bcc: olivier/smc) 10-09-02 12:20 PMSubject: Large Corporations that use ColdFusion Please respond to cf-talk I've seen this post before, so I'm sorry for the repeat. I'm defending the use of ColdFusion in a large corporate environment. I need some names (as many as you can throw at me) of large corporations that use ColdFusion (did I see somewhere that Ebay uses CF for intranet usage?). If this is redundant list traffic, please send to me offline.
