RE: Latest MDAC ??
More clarification, MDAC 2.5 SP1 is a full installation of MDAC. You don't need to install 2.5 and then SP1. You would use 2.5 SP1 on either a W2K or NT4 system to upgrade to the latest version no matter what current version you have and you would use it if you were doing a fresh install and did not have MDAC even installed. RE: Latest MDAC ??
If you can find anything from Allaire that says don't use MDAC 2.5 with CF 4 please let me know. I know of no such warning. Moreover we have used 2.5 on a number of 4.0x production sites since early March. We recently ran into a problem with 2.5 SP1 that appears to affect a very small number of CFQUERY but other than that MDAC 2.5 seems to work very well. - Steve -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, September 11, 2000 3:19 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Latest MDAC ?? RE: Latest MDAC ??
I don't know where you heard about 2.5 being recommended. If it came from Allaire it was from a junior level guy. 2.5 is very much recommended not only as it solves a denial of service attack but it is more stable and has several memory leaks fixed. 2.5 does have problems and there is a good chance some code may break. Forums has a problem with 2.5 but the fix is minor. See www.forumspot.org for details. Sp1 hasn't released their fix list so you may want to wait a while until you see what has been fixed but I would highly recommend always being with the very latest MDAC, it almost always fixes more problem then it solves. - Steve -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, September 11, 2000 3:19 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Latest MDAC ??
