This is the BEST!

This page contains a 'no right clicks' script. Go ahead a right-click

Isn't that amazing??

I right clicked, and lo and behold, I saved the page to my desktop.

There is, however, one cross-browser, cross-platform, short-cut key
independent way to stop the ability to harness parts of a web site:
unplug the server. Works every time.

IIRC, the Google toolbar both tells you /exactly/ what it's going to track
/and/ how to turn it off -- and gives you the option of turning it off
during the install. Less SpyWare and more WeaponsInspectorWare, I guess.

I am looking at different ways of protecting some content and am
wondering if there is a way of supressing the Save As functionality in
MSIE. One site I am unable to save like this is CNN.COM. When I try, the
browser goes about retrieving all of the files associated, but then an
error stating The web page could not be saved to the selected
location. Is this just some weird error, or have CNN in fact added
something to their site to do exactly this?

More like most everything in the browser has *already* been saved to your
disk. Can't get the cnn.com webpage to 'save as'...just go digging through
your temporary internet files and get the file from there.

You can make people jump through a couple hoops to get at your content, but
you'll never be able to protect it from those who really want it.

Cheers,
chris
