Re: RE: web beacons

2003-01-13 Thread ksuh
It worked at first, but then after a few clicks, I'd get less and less of the page
HTML. And then it stopped responding. It was really weird.

Hmm, well I'd tell ya to go to http://www.depressedpress.com,
but the site seems to be majorly broken.

Well... It seems to be working now. What happened to you (ever since
I've moved hosts and from CF 4.5 to MX the site's been flakey as
 all-git-out).

There are two articles concerning this stuff. The first is a general
how-to article that covers this (Web bugs) and bi-directional
 communication (Heartbeats):

 http://www.depressedpress.com/DepressedPress/Content/ColdFusion/Essays/G
 IFAsPipe/Index.cfm

The second uses that technique to fetch client monitor resolution
 data:
 http://www.depressedpress.com/DepressedPress/Content/ColdFusion/Essays/G
 etRes/Index.cfm

I hope the site stays up for at least a while now!

That's been happening since I switched to MX. CrystalTech says that
it's the JRUN connector. I'm inclined to believe them but wich the damn
thing would get fixed! ;^)

Thanks, I'll forward it on to my host... I don't know if they'll do
anything about it, but they can't claim there's nothing TO do. ;^)
