You could almost say the same thing for Flash at this point in time...yes it is 
getting better, but th number of units that have flash installed is still quite 
low.at least from the numbers Ive seen.

Talking about mobile devices.  I'm looking for an app that will allow
users to sync their contacts/ calendar events between a coldfusion app
and outlook/pdas.
Something similar with the way salesforce.com is doing.

If by RIA you mean Flash, I'd suggest going to the Macromedia site and 
checking out their mobile section.

Of course, I find it much easier to implement this functionality from a 
standalone app using SQLite++ as it's more easy to customize given different 
situations...
