Re: Something that will work like onblur with CFINPUT
Kim, You can also use the PASSTHROUGH attribute with the CFINPUT tag. This will basically pass anything you put in the passthrough attribute value as part of the input html tag this is generated. Example: (note that the quotes need to be escaped in the passthrough value) Matt Kim Ahlbrandt wrote: > > I have a CFFORM with two CFINPUT text boxes. RE: Something that will work like onblur with CFINPUT
I don't have a lot of experience with CFFORMs because I found they were always very limiting, so I use regular FORMs at all times. As for populating the form with query results, the fact that it is a CFFORM makes no difference, and you can do just the same with a regular FORM. Remember, CF Server simply renders a regular form with a pile of JavaScript written for you when it encounters a CFFORM. I need to take the amount they fill in the first, and calculate a number that will be filled in the second. I want to do this onblur but onblur doesn't seem to work in a CFINPUT tag. Is there a way to do this? I have a button set up right now "Calculate Value" and it is a regular INPUT tag with OnClick set up and that works. But, that isn't what the users want. Help!! Also, while I'm on the subject...is there a way to freeze that second textbox (so they can't change it once the calculation is in there. Again, I can do this with a regular INPUT tag, but not with CFINPUT. I need to use CFINPUT as I'm filling the textboxes in with query values if they have already been in and saved a record. Re: Something that will work like onblur with CFINPUT
I use onBlur with a tag and it works just fine: It fires off a function that does some calculations on the date and then sets the value of a hidden text field. Maybe if you posted the code you are having trouble with .? :) P.S. You don't *have* to use to assign a database derived value to a text box. You can do it with a simple tag as well.
