We should be able to have our own merchant account in two or three months. I'm looking for a payment processing solution where a third-party provides the merchant account/credit card processing services, but still allows the webmaster to maintain the shopping cart, collect the user information (billing and shipping), then pass the data over to the third party for processing. Just like Verisign's PayFlow Pro except they have the merchant account(s). The reason: We are currently using iBill Catalog Complete. It's OK, except I want to be able to offer discounts for paid members, keep an accurate running inventory of products, maintain my own client information database, etc. With iBill, since the cart is processed on their servers, if a person abandons a cart or their card is declined, I have no way of returning that inventory to my system until we do our daily orders download for delivery. Then I need to manually calculate inventory and update our database. It's a major pain in the ... I'd like the fexibility and functionality of something like Verisign's PayFlow Pro without needing to have our own merchant account (just yet). I'd also like that type of system so I won't have to completely redesign our web site back end to incorporate a PayFlow Pro style system when we do have our own merchant account. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
