RE: Cluster on one machine

2000-08-16 Thread Stanislav Maximov

Actually, why am I need this, it's because of ColdFusion (for Linux)
instability. That's why I wish to run several instances of CF on one
machine: one instance dies and restarts, others process user requests. Now
traffic isn't so high - about 1k/day, so it is alittle bit early to
implement a cluster on multiple machines.

Thanks.

Sorry, but isn't this a little daft?
ClusterCATS is designed so that if one server is busy then it passes the
work to another server - if you're running multiple instances of CFServer
then won't your server be PERMANENTLY busy?

Remember that ClusterCATS is a load balancing option, if your load is heavy
on one server, how is stacking more load onto that onto the one server going
to help?

Hello,

Is it possible to create a cluster on one machine? I mean to have several CF
servers running.
Is it possible with ClusterCATS?

TIA
