Several of us are on the UltraDev beta, which is why we know about the features. The actual program won't be released until next month. All I can say is the program is awesome for designers AND programmers. I'm not a designer myself, but consider myself a hard-core programmer. UD is great because you can go into code view, write your CF code, and then view it in design view as if it were a CF page being served from the server -- and still being able to edit the design, such as moving the tables around and changing styles, while viewing the page. UD4 is much more CF friendly than the first release. tom ~~ Structure your ColdFusion code with Fusebox. UD4 is awesome. The Server Behavior builder will let you fill in your own code snippets with your own parameters so the next time you want to insert the code, a custom dialogue box will pop up and let you fill in all the parameters. It also does generation of some basic code so that you can get basic database-driven pages up there quickly. RE: Dreamweaver Ultradev 4 - any good?
Mike. I have been using UD4 here at work for a bit. it has really sped things up on simple intranet applications development. i am by no means a good CF developer, so the visual interface UD provides is great for me. As far as the SQL side of it, it is still a little limited if you stay with in the visual side. I still Switch into CF-Studio, every 1/2 hour or so, to check my tags, & statements. But for layout & manipulation of live data in your page, it is a huge time saver. So all in all, i would say, Grab it, use the heck out of it. let your JR developers get comfortable on it, than build some sweet Server Behaviors for the rest of us to use! I have not used GoLive, & probably never will. UD will be a good start to make your people a little more productive. have a good day! -paul Web Developer, NBBJ Work: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 614 241-3534 Home: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 614 449-1681 [EMAIL PROTECTED] icq:47658358 > -Original Message- > From: Michael Kear [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Wednesday, November 15, 2000 1:04 AM > To: CF-Talk > Subject: Dreamweaver Ultradev 4 - any good? > > Has anyone tried the new Dreamweaver Ultradev 4?
