Re: Random session drops?
Neil are you getting the same problem if using IE and FF. I have a similar problem at the moment and there is a problem that was introduced in IE 6 where it can drop sessions related to cookies; do a google of this site turns up a lot of responses. Another thing are you using J2EE sessions? The problem I have at the moment is related to CF J2EE sessions clashing with sessions on websphere on the same server. I did a test and the CFID and CFTOKEN are the same before and after the session is dropped but the Jsessionid is different. Waiting for admin to turn off J2EE sessions on the server to see if this works. By the way my problem occurs in IE but not in FireFox, although implementing all the things for fixing IE have not been successful. Hope some of this helps in some way, good luck. cheers Martin Has anyone had any experience of CF seemingly randomly dropping sessions? I running in a single server config here. -- Neil Middleton Visit feed-squirrel.com ~| Introducing the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. 80 pages of hard-hitting, up-to-date ColdFusion information by your peers, delivered to your door four times a year. http://www.fusionauthority.com/quarterly Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/message.cfm/messageid:261544 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.4
Re: Random session drops?
Thinking about it, I would guess the majority are on IE. I'll ask Mr Google and see what he come's up with. Cheers mate. Re: Random session drops?
A lot of time it seems random, but digging further reveals a sensible reason for dropped sessions. What sort of other symptoms do you see when it happens? Who is it happening to? People can have cookies blocked on their LAN for example. -- Josh - Original Message - From: Neil Middleton [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: CF-Talk cf-talk@houseoffusion.com Sent: Wednesday, November 22, 2006 6:49 AM Subject: Random session drops? Re: Random session drops?
Generally it seems to be happening across all our apps, and with users that have previously logged in fine, and logged in OK since. Re: Random session drops?
Sorry for the double post. I forgot to mention that I was running on CF5, and thought that it was a CF5 only issue. I also hoped that once we upgrade to MX 7 or Scorpio, that it will go away. What version of CF are you running? If it's 7 or above, then looks like the problem won't go away, simply by upgrading. Re: Random session drops?
Neil, I have had that problem too. I don't count myself as a newbie developer, as I've been coding in CF for almost 10 years. It's only in my current job that I have seen it happen. And it happens like once every blue moon. Not frequently, but when it does, there's no explanation for it. It'll happen internally, from people hitting the app within our office, and external users. I've posted about here several times, and even asked Raymond Camden in his Ask a Jedi forum, and on the Macromedia forums. I was never able to find out why. Please post your findings, if you are able to find a solution. Thanks, Ali Generally it seems to be happening across all our apps, and with users that have previously logged in fine, and logged in OK since. Re: Random session drops?
I am on 7.0.1. I should point out that this may not be CF's fault - I am only aware of the symptoms. On 11/22/06, Ali Awan [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Sorry for the double post.
