Between FF's memory (leak) issues, Running CF 8 and SQL Server locally and a *loaded* version of Eclipse, and Outlook, Apache etc. My box hovers @ ~1.3 - 1.6 gigs of ram. Btw, if Eclipse runs slow you can increase the RAM available to Eclipse in Eclipse.ini file. Yeah, I know, worsening one problem to solve another. Ditto on Aptana. It is not visual per se. But definitely levels out the learning curve significantly. Especially with JS/AJAX libraries.
