We have an app that has been in 6.1 for years and we are finally working on upgrading it to CF 8. My questions is simple, although I'm afraid the answer will not be: Why does it take 5 times as long to create a collection in CF 8 as it does to create a collection CF MX 6.1 ? We have a module that creates about 24 collections. Each collection takes about 2 seconds to create in MX 6.1. In CF 8, they take around 10-12 seconds to create. This is Windows platform. I even checked to see if CF 8 collections have more files, and while, an empty collection in MX 6.1 has 27 files and 20 folders, an empty collection in CF 8 has 30 files, but only 9 folders. 47 hits to the OS in MX 6.1 and only 39 in CF 8 and it still takes 5 times as long. We have other modules that actually do indexing in these collections and those have also been running about 5 times as long. Has anyone run into this and, if so, can it be explained?
