Yes.

Yes, I'd strongly recommend it especially if you're using the "regular"
version of Verity already. It's very easy to set up K2 and run your searches
against that instead, and they'll typically run quite a bit faster.

Slow, I agree. Not very accurate? Can you provide more detail about the
problem you're having with accuracy?

Yes, you can use all sorts of things. If you're dealing with database
content, the database vendor often provides this kind of functionality -
we've had some really good results using SQL Server 2000's full-text
indexing. If you're dealing with filesystem content, there are other
alternatives, but I have less experience with those.

We use Oracle Text, which is excellent for database searches.

People have used Lucene with CF but you need to find parsers for this to
work.

We are using it, yeah its good, it has some oddities but once you get around
em all it's coolio.
