If the user has entered their email address in a form, there are two potential ways to get it. If the form has method of "POST", the email address will be in the FORM scope of the action page. If the form has a method of "GET", the email address will be in the URL scope. Only if you asked the user to provide his/her email address. There is no way ColdFusion (or any other technology) can know this by itself.
