PDF creation is definitely memory intensive. We recently had a customer creating a memory-intensive 1,500 page document and had to raise his maxheap value in the CF Admin to get by this. We'll see if we can't get more efficiant about things going forward. I believe that any scheduler requests are handled via an http request to the cf server so it looks like a regular web client connection to the web server.
