Re: shopping cart suggestions
The beef I have is in step 5 below: 1) I search on shopping cart suggestions 2) Up pops several pages of results. 3) I click on one of the result topics 4) I'm brought to a page with 200 threads that I have to sift through visually to find my topic 5) WTF? This may seem like a stupid question, but what;s the URL? Googling brings up a lot of fluff, and I'm not 100% sure the sitedirector.com is the right site Eric J. Hoffman wrote: SiteDirectorI love it. Re: shopping cart suggestions
It really only costs $250 for as many sites as I can develop? I like the idea of the store only consisting of three include files. What I'm trying to get at here is to make it so my more junior developers can easily wrap their heads around this and have the ability to make changes if need be without having to learn any complicated framework. Personally, I like CFWebStore, but it is just too much for our less-experienced people to handle. I'm learning to hate FuseBox more and more every day. :) Matt Williams wrote: Cartweaver is a pretty good deal. One time fee for multiple stores. Re: shopping cart suggestions
I am in the process of setting up a store using CFWebstore. It's Fusebox 3.0 which takes a bit of getting used to, but once you're comfortable it's pretty straightforward to do customization. Everything is commented which helps a lot in figuring out which template is calling which etc. -- Josh - Original Message - From: Ray Champagne [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: CF-Talk cf-talk@houseoffusion.com Sent: Thursday, May 04, 2006 12:28 PM Subject: shopping cart suggestions I need some. Re: shopping cart suggestions
I always have to apologize for dropping the recommendation on a CF list, but the best one I've ever used is www.x-cart.com. It's a PHP MySQL app, but I just can't say enough good about it. It's a great app; it's well supported; it's constantly updated; it's got tons of add-ons available; it's really easy to install and equally easy to manage -- very powerful to boot. I REALLY like it. -Ferg Ray Champagne wrote: I need some. I tried searching the archives, but to be honest, I really hate the HoF search, I never seem to find what I'm looking for. CFWebStore (http://www.cfwebstore.com). Works great, Fusebox 3 design, fairly easy to customize. You could check mine out, but my hosting provider is trying to figure out how they broke the JIA (I use it, though it's not standard with the store). There are some good implimentations out there... Has anyone had any experience with this solution, or can anyone recommend any other shopping card solutions (that work with MX 6.1, but also would be interested in something that works with CF 4.5). You may have a tough time finding a cart that works in both MX and in CF 4.5. It's just not an easy task keeping compatibility with such old versions while continuing to support newer ones. For instance, any cart using sessions and properly locking them for CF5 would have locks that don't work with CF 4.5 at all as the syntax changed between those versions. It's hard enough keeping support for CF5, as my customers would like features that really need to use CFMX tags and functions.
