[cfaussie] Re: Clustering - Standard or Enterprise

2007-08-06 Thread M@ Bourke
Hi Scott,

if your simply after "failover protection" where a server dies for what ever
reason and ya don't want down time and the server isn't getting an intensely
massive loan then standard with a hardware (don't go a software) load
balancer will do the trick and check if a server has carked it and direct
the traffice to the other server/servers

[cfaussie] Which subversion hosting do you use?

2007-08-06 Thread michael sharman

Hi guys,

Just wondering what external subversion hosts people might recommend.

In the past I've used cvsdude, and while I have had absolutely no
problems with them I just wanted to see what else is out there.

So far I've seen a couple of others including svnrepository.com and
devguard.com, the former being extremely cost competitive.

Has anyone used either of these or have similar recommendations?

Ideally I need at least 5GB space and many (100+) repositories/users,
hourly backups etc. As I'm not sure whether we'll be using Trac I
don't think that is an essential.

Thanks again

[cfaussie] Query Problem against MS Access data source

2007-08-06 Thread Scott Thornton

Hi,

Running the following query in MS Access query designer.

SELECT [Prostheses List].[Billing Code] AS mbs_item_no,
 [Prostheses List].MinBenefit AS mbs_item_cost,
 [Prostheses List].[Benefit Changed] AS mbs_Cost_Start_Date,
 [Prostheses List].[Product Name] AS desc1,
 [Prostheses List].[Further Description] AS desc2,
[Prostheses List].Size AS desc3
FROM [Prostheses List]
WHERE

 ((([Prostheses List].[Changed?])=Yes)) OR ((([Prostheses List].[New?])=Yes))

ORDER BY [Prostheses List].[Billing Code];

it works fine.

When I run it in CF, I get the following error:

Error Executing Database Query. [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC
Socket][Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]COUNT field incorrect

After some investigation I think the error is related to the question mark
character in the where clause.

I cannot change the field name in the table, as it is provided by the Federal
government.

I've tried text quotes around the field name.. but nothing has worked

Any idea to get around this?

[cfaussie] Re: Query Problem against MS Access data source

2007-08-06 Thread Haikal Saadh

Would exporting the data to a real database (with appropriate table
names) be too much? SQL Server's DTS should make something like this
reasonably painless. I think you can even schedule the process so that
it happens periodically?

That aside, I'm stumped.

(Oh, and just checking, but you did see the second ? [New?] as well,
right?)

Okay,

I can use Select * and the field is returned in the query okay.

Next challange, using the field in CF presents a problem as CF chucks an error:

So,

If I know the order of the columns of the query, can I refer to it that way?

[cfaussie] Re: Query Problem against MS Access data source

2007-08-06 Thread Dale Fraser

Where does the problem occur? Is it just in the where perhaps

Try without the where, but include the field in the select and see if you
can dump it.

You might then be able to do query of query or loop over the query.

If select [Changed?] as Changed works you will have a lot more options.

SELECT [Prostheses List].[Billing Code] AS mbs_item_no,

 [Prostheses List].[Benefit Changed] AS mbs_Cost_Start_Date,

WHERE

 ((([Prostheses List].[Changed?])=Yes)) OR ((([Prostheses

ORDER BY [Prostheses List].[Billing Code];

it works fine.

When I run it in CF, I get the following error:

Error Executing Database Query. [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC

After some investigation I think the error is related to the question mark

I cannot change the field name in the table, as it is provided by the

I've tried text quotes around the field name.. but nothing has worked

Any idea to get around this?

SELECT ...
WHERE  = YES ...

I'm not sure if cfqueryparam can be used for a table name, so not sure
if it'll work, but worth checking out.

[cfaussie] Query Problem against MS Access data source

2007-08-06 Thread Scott Thornton

Hi Dale,

I think my last email crossed over the wires with yours.

I can use Select * and the field is returned n the query object.

I cannot reference it via coldfusion, or in a query of query by its name.

My next question is, can I refer to it by its column number. Am currently
scouring the docs for this info.

Cheers,

>>> "Dale Fraser" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 07/08/2007 3:32 pm >>>

Where does the problem occur? Is it just in the where perhaps

Try without the where, but include the field in the select and see if you
can dump it.

You might then be able to do query of query or loop over the query.

If select [Changed?] as Changed works you will have a lot more options.

Regards
Dale Fraser

Hi,

Running the following query in MS Access query designer.

SELECT [Prostheses List].[Billing Code] AS mbs_item_no,
 [Prostheses List].MinBenefit AS mbs_item_cost,
 [Prostheses List].[Benefit Changed] AS mbs_Cost_Start_Date,
 [Prostheses List].[Product Name] AS desc1,
 [Prostheses List].[Further Description] AS desc2,
[Prostheses List].Size AS desc3
FROM [Prostheses List]
WHERE

 ((([Prostheses List].[Changed?])=Yes)) OR ((([Prostheses
List].[New?])=Yes))

ORDER BY [Prostheses List].[Billing Code];

it works fine.

When I run it in CF, I get the following error:

Error Executing Database Query. [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC
Socket][Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]COUNT field incorrect

After some investigation I think the error is related to the question mark
character in the where clause.

I cannot change the field name in the table, as it is provided by the
Federal government.

I've tried text quotes around the field name.. but nothing has worked

Any idea to get around this?

[cfaussie] Query Problem against MS Access data source

2007-08-06 Thread Scott Thornton

Doesn't work,

Error Message:
Complex object types cannot be converted to simple values. The expression has
requested a variable or an intermediate expression result as a simple value,
however, the result cannot be converted to a simple value. Simple values are
strings, numbers, boolean values, and date/time values. Queries, arrays, and
COM objects are examples of complex values.
The most likely cause of the error is that you are trying to use a complex
value as a simple one. For example, you might be trying to use a query variable
in a tag. This was possible in ColdFusion 2.0 but creates an error in
later versions.
The error occurred on line 64.

[cfaussie] Re: Query Problem against MS Access data source

2007-08-06 Thread Steve Onnis

If you use #myquery['changed?']# a lot of the time you need to use an index
because you cant just output an array like that. If you know there is only
one record in the recordset then use #myquery['changed?'][1]#
