[cfaussie] Part-time or freelance CF developer Canberra

2008-06-02 Thread David Heacock

We are looking for a skilled Coldfusion developer for part-time or
freelance project work. We would prefer a local developer with at
least 3 years experience in CF. Flex experience would also be a bonus.
The position will hopefully grow to a full-time position with a lot of
flexibility.

Please contact Karmin Cooper at Zoo Communications on 02 6260 6900.

[cfaussie] Re: Adobe Online Festival - July 1

2008-06-02 Thread Barry Beattie

call me obtuse if you must, but I couldn't see anywhere on that
"Flash-y thing" that actually mentioned the date. At least it's not
obvious..

so if I was to forward the link on then it makes it a bit tricky for
the target to know when it's on (to see if they should register or
not).

Stick the date++ in the email? sure - if they remember to refer back
to it: it's seperating two pieces of data that then travel via two
different mediums. Multimodal literacies.

Google FuseBox CatClub and you should find Sean Corfields side by side
comparison of these things. So far I am liking FuseBox5.5_noXML

I've developed a wiki with ColdBox (Luis Majano and I worked on it together),
that we announced at cf.Objective().
http://www.codexwiki.org/

I quite like CB, it's a MVC nice framework, but also comes with a slew of
toolkits you can choose to use at your discretion.

I found it quite an easy learning curve, and the documentation is second to
none in the CF world. (As far as I have seen).

I've not used FB, so I can't comment on that.

Re FB 5, not using 5.5, but am using mvc with FB5.

Re long load time -

I'm finding it satisfactory in production mode.

I am leveraging Spry Ajax, which makes it very good for a lot of the

content, I don't need to re-load css, js, layouts, etc

Re re-loading app when adding fuseaction. Yes, when running in

production mode. Are you wanting to add fuseactions in production

cycle?

I'd also like to hear from anyone working with ColdBox, particularly

in terms of learning curve, ease of entry, etc. Anyone using ColdBox

AOP capability, dependency injection?

By the way, has anyone played with Steve Nelson's experimental VERY

simple CFC Fusebox replacement? It's about time he did an update.

Please let us know if you've had a play.

[cfaussie] Re: verity quirks

2008-06-02 Thread MrBuzzy
Good stuff. What sort of Coopers?

Previously you said " So if anyone wants to help w/ Seeker, just say the
word."
I'm wondering, what would the process be to get this collaboration going?

Note I use the word collaborate, not contribute :) :)

I released the update this morning. I had a few Coopers to celebrate.
Now I'm done for the day...
