[cfaussie] Re: SEO - How to upgrade my skills
Heheh thanks Chris, perhaps i didn't word my question very well, on hindsight. I was actually looking for advice on the best way to achieve what i want. I suspect that a book on SEO wouldnt be the best way, because techniques are changing so rapidly, it would be hard to find a SEO book that's up to date. So i was hoping someone more knowledgeable than me about SEO would give me some advice as to the best way to go. No offence, Chris, but I had that list of 4 things too. and a couple of other ideas too. Cheers Mike Kear Windsor, NSW, Australia Adobe Certified Advanced ColdFusion Developer AFP Webworks http://afpwebworks.com ColdFusion, PHP, ASP, ASP.NET hosting from AUD$15/month p.s. your sig line says the May CFUG meeting is on 25 June. [cfaussie] Re: SEO - How to upgrade my skills
Mike From my experience the only things in SEO that change rapidly are the hacks and cheats where as the fundamentals have not really changed...XHTML, CSS, content content content, keyword and keyword page relevance and links. I tend to prefer rankings that persisit rather than using hacks and so on to increase rankings as they don't last and end up hurting you more in the long run. Keep in mind though that SEO is such a delicate area and I wouldn't imagine people are going to give up their secrets too readily. [cfaussie] Re: SEO - How to upgrade my skills
Thanks Steve, in fact that's the point really. There are lots of folks claiming to be experts in the field. I guess SEO has more than it's share of charlatans and conmen, but how do people become experts in that field? I have the same list as you - perhaps I'm not as far from the front in SEO as i imagined.
