Thanks very much for the follow up Charlie - as it turned out the Adobe
Australia crew made heroic efforts to get the installer and updater for us by
the following morning (big props to Richard Turner Jones, Brian, Clare and
Michael for their help).

I wondered if the old links were still there, nice sleuthing in your blog post
:-).

Cheers,
Robin

RE: [cfaussie] CF8 Solaris Installer?

2012-08-03 Thread Charlie Arehart
Robin, did you ever get the installer you sought? If not, check out my blog
entry from that time:

http://www.carehart.org/blog/client/index.cfm/2012/5/31/Getting-ColdFusion-8
9-downloads-with-Verity-ways-that-may-work-even-after-today

I have tweaked it a bit with some new info, and do offer at least the 64-bit
installer there for you (yes, the full installer for 8.0.1 Solaris 64-bit).

But to save you the time:

http://trials.adobe.com/Applications/ColdFusion/801WWE/coldfusion-801-sol64.
bin

That said, the won't work for you at first. (Let's see who is first to
complain about that, because they didn't read beyond that link.)

As I explain in the blog entry, you need to first log into the Adobe site,
such as you might do when downloading a current edition of CF
(https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=coldfusion). Once
logged in, the link above works (at least it does today).

Hope that helps (you and others wanting older downloaders, for 8, 9, or
9.0.1, in the future).

/charlie

Hi All,

A long shot, but does anyone have a CF8 Solaris Installer (not an updater)
handy?

Cheers,
Robin
