Hi Dawna,

My parents were artists and I'm having an art party June 12 to showcase their
work. My parents both graduated from the Corcoran right after world war II and
also studied and graduated from
the Ecole Fernand Leger in Paris. Their history is especially impressive when
we moved to New York in 1957. You can get a better sense of my parents’
careers by going to the websites I’ve
set-up about them: www.thomasbarnett.us and www.marthamckay.us . Both parents
are deceased. My Dad passing was 2 years ago. I have well over 500 canvases
and I will select a
cross section to exhibit.

The rubber roof was expensive but is long lasting. Kelbie Roofing in Columbia
did the did porch roofs, flashing and installed commercial grade gutters too.
If you get on the roof and look around, you can see the difference between the
tar roofs and the rubber membranes if your neighbors have them. I struggled
for a year on this and wasted alot of money on alternatives and fixes to
ceiling plaster before just deciding to do the rubber roof. It was well worth
it.

James guaranteed he would find and fix it and that my roof/ceiling would no

I forget how much I paid him for that and other roof work; $700, I think.

It still leaked and leaks.

After all I had heard of his work, I was disappointed. He did come back and

got rancid and had had to be redone. With the help of a lawyer, I got half of

[Chat] Interesting day

2006-03-31 Thread Andre Barnett
A lot of interesting stuff flying around the old discussion group today,
from old Soldiers Fading Away (Gren reference) to some strange left handed
statements in support of the benefits district. I could make my own
comments, but that would get in the way of Shameless Self Promotion!!:

Re: [Chat] The TARDIS lands tomorrow on SciFi!

Yay! I think Nico is the Doctor in disguise and Hobble is his assistant.

For all you Whovians in Charles Village, the new Dr. Who series
starts tomorrow Friday at 9 PM on the SciFi channel!  This is a
high-quality production from BBC Wales, starring Christopher Eccleston
and Billie Piper as the Doctor and his assistant Rose.  I grabbed DVDs
of the series at the Farpoint convention up in Hunt Valley a few weeks
back, and Kathleen and I watched the whole thing.  I liked it.  She
liked it too, and she was never a big fan of the show (although we
both liked Tom Baker as the 4th Doctor).  Kathleen says that
Eccleston combines the zaniness of Tom Baker with the vulnerability
of Peter Davison.

Even if you've never watched Dr. Who before, you might
want to see an episode.

They really do things in a big way on the show.  You get to see No. 10
Downing Street hit by a cruise missile, and you get to see the Earth
destroyed when the Sun finally runs out of hydrogen and turns into a
Red Giant in the year umpteen zillion.  What's not to like?

Directions Below

Directions to 2112 St. Paul Street Baltimore, MD 21218

Coming from the South: Take I-95 all the way into Baltimore. (Do not take
I-695, the Beltway;  do not take I-895, the tunnel thruway.)  Take Exit 53
(I-395). Then bear right at the fork for Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.
Follow King Blvd until it ends (a bit less than 2 miles) at a large
intersection. Turn left onto Howard Street.

Coming from the North:  (From I-83):  I-83 Southbound merges briefly (at
Exit 14) with I-695 Westbound;  then at the next exit (Exit 23) it splits
off again. Stay on I-83 through this.  Exit at North Avenue (Exit 6).  Turn
left at the light, to go under the expressway, then over a bridge.  At the
end of the bridge, turn left at the light, onto Howard St.

Coming from the West:  From I-70, take Exit 89 (I-695 South).  After about 5
miles, take Exit 11 (I-95);  Bear left where the ramp splits for I-95 North
(Exit 11A).   Take Exit 53 (I-395).  Then bear right at the fork for Martin
Luther King, Jr. Blvd.  Follow King Blvd until it ends (a bit less than 2
miles) at a large intersection. Turn left onto Howard Street.

From Howard St., turn right onto 23rd St. (second traffic light.). You will
pass Maryland Street and Charles Street. Proceed to St. Paul Street. As
you approach the intersection you can look to your right and see a parking
lot for The Baltimore Lab (pre-k school?), you can park there and walk a
block and a half to my house 2112 St. Paul, which is on the right side of
the street. Or you can make the right turn onto St. Paul and park on my
street.
