Something I just got feegured out ( I think) was that the 400 was renamed a
3L80 in the early 90'spredecessor to the 4L80 which included OD,,,same
gear ratio with the exeption of the .75 OD ratio..Happy find for me
seeing the guy I got it from thought it was a 350 and had to get rid of it
due to relocation
(hmmm,,50 bux??,,,glad I could help 8^)

I have a friend who had a 69 Camaro that was missing the seat belts. He
didn't care about originality so he went to a junk yard that deals in
Insurance wrecks. For 50 bucks he not only got new seat belts but was able
to find a set that included the shoulder harness and adapted them to his
car. Looked original. Front and back.
In Mich. the one he went to was D R. Huge place. You can buy engines,
Tran's, interior parts, etc.. Anything not damaged. These places service the
repair shops. Selling parts to repair your newer model wreck. I once bought
a front clip for a Buick to replace the one my son wrecked.

I have the exact same problem with my car. I have the retractable lap
belt
and shoulder belt but no female seat belt ends...dont know where they went
the previous owner must of not liked them. But anyway come to find out
there is no way to just get the female seat belt ends so there goes a
bundle
of money just to buy a seat belt that i will eventually replace with a 5
pt
harness once i get a roll cage installed. Even the plastic seat belts
from
Auto Zone are 18 for one. Welcome to the seat belt world...if you have
not
already guessed i am a tight wod.

The female part (buckle) of the seat belts are missing from my '71 and so
are the mounting bolts. Can anyone tell me where these bolt holes are
located? Anyone know of a picture of what the correct buckle for my car
looks like? Is the lap buckle the same as the shoulder harness buckle?

Been to a few web sites and you sure can spend a bundle on these
 belts! (ssnake-oyl.com krebsclassic.com)

[Chevelle-List] Front Springs Question ?

2002-03-23 Thread Craig Cerena Robertson

Just removed the upper and lower control arms
today. I was told to pick up a rubber cap that goes over the front
springs, (not between) thats about a 1/2 inch or so,thick that would help
raise the front end. Can anyone tell what this part may be called.
Not sure what to ask for at the auto store. Then I need to clean up the
parts and replace the ball joints. Thanks

Craig

[Chevelle-List] Four Speed to Automatic

2002-03-23 Thread Lojac

Can someone out there please tell
me everything I would need to convert by 69 Chevelle from a four speed to an
automatic? The car was originally an automatic, so I think there are still
some of the linkages under the hood (???). I was thinking about a
Turbo400...any thoughts. Anyway, I just wanted to know what I needed to do
the swap. Does anyone make a kit for this swap?

Thanks,
Lojac

column shift or floor shift?

if its a column shift, then u need the linkage from the column to the tranny

if its a floor shift then you will need a shifter, cable, range select lever, the column to tranny linkage for safety reasons, console assembly, console wiring, console mounts.

If you already have a console then forget about all the console stuff, you will just need a new auto top plate.

Hope this helps!
