I picked up another one off my buddy and I am just waiting to use his
shop to put it in. He has a pit in the floor and it sure makes it alot
easier
 to put in.

2002-07-19 Thread PLGChevelle65

When I was shopping for my car about a year ago, I was all over the internet
searching. I came across a fully restored Z-16 for $200k and a some kind of Yenko
project needing restoration for $70k. I remember sitting at the computer with my 14
year old daughter and showing her these prices. I wouldn't bet the farm on it though.
It was early on a Sunday morning and I was looking at many, many sites. But I seem
to recall that price. I'm a 65 owner and the Z-16 is my dream car. So when I see
anything related, I notice.

the question was for a z16.  The statement was one was for sale for 200k. I looked at that LS6 convert last fall (less than 25 made/possible 8 converts) and it was for sale for 175 k then. I actually bid on a rarer car yet. (L 89 convert 18 built 6 converts) I stopped at 55 k on it and I think it went for 75 k.

Do you have one of them ?

I have heard that they are as strong as the V-8 transmissions because
of the same internals, except the input shaft which is 14spline.
If you are interested I could check this further with my friend who
used them for racing behind a 406 sbc

I agree with larry here, if the VIN is right its a z-16 even if you put
on all new parts it will still be a Z-16, maybe over-restored but a z-
16.

Just my opinion
