I've seen them before and they tie in to numbers found on the build sheet/body broadcast sheet. As for the "BF" found on the cowl tag, that was the plant designation for the Fremont, California assembly plant, and was used from late '65 through '69. Hope this helps... Donnie, Wish I knew. I'm finding more strange numbers on '67 trim tags and it doesn't seem to be plant specific. I just got a rubber cowl seal for my cowl induction from National Parts Depot and the thing is so stiff I can't close the hood. Anybody had a similar problem? The last one I had was wy more flexible - much softer compound or something. E
[Chevelle-List] Driveline vibration debug
Well, it just goes to show ya, never take anyone's word for the work they do. We pulled the driveshaft off again, sent it down to CCI again, this time the owner put it on the machine and found it was out of balance. Got it back on the car this morning and MOST of the vibration is gone but not all. It still has a vibration that comes on at just about the same speed, only milder - almost, but not quite, tolerable. Personally, I think that CCI balanced the shaft but that it is oretty close to the outside edge of allowable runout. Dreamcruise is upon us so it'll have to wait until next week, but I'm pulling the shaft and having Dynotech check it out and make absolutely sure it is true and balanced. It is aggravating and distressing to not completely trust a company to build a part for you, not to mention expensive. Dynotech is charging me $65 just to check it out. And what do I do if they tell me it's got excessive runout or is still out of balance? It is a serious pain to argue with a vendor over the quality of the work they do. I just have that awful feeling that the guy is standing there looking at it on the machine and decides "close enough" when he knows it ain't. E

Kinda misleading calling them 135 or 180 degree bends. Check out some plumbing fittings(EARLS, AEROQUIP)and you will see what a 180 really is. Casting numbers while determine 2 or 4 bolt mains. Without my book in front of me I believe the 2 bolt main blocks are 960 and the 4 bolt main blocks are 961. Re: [Chevelle-List] Headers
I have a new set of dynomax brand on my Camaro, and a new set of Hookers from Jet-Hot. The Jet-Hot coating is a nice even, smooth finish that looks much nicer than the Dynomax coating. The Dynomax coating is uneven in appearance, even a bit spotty looking. They look dirty, even though they are brand new. I paid $330 for the Hooker comp, part #2455, including shipping. Talk to Chris at Jet-Hot about discounts/specials. They also fit perfectly on my '69 BBC with manual trans. The Dynomax headers fit fine on my SBC also for that matter. take care,. Darrell; If you stop by OPG again, they owe me money, maybe you'll have better luck getting it. I've had good luck with John Nasta, Old Car Network. Re: [Chevelle-List] "Long" brand of shifters

I was just looking at it the other day and it's definitely a quality item. cYa- Herb Lumpp 1966 El Camino, LS6, 6 spd, Currie 9" ACES 3509, MCC 528 http://users.adelphia.net/~hlump/ - Original Message - From: "Chevelle 69" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, August 13, 2002 8:56 PM Subject: [Chevelle-List] "Long" brand of shifters > > Is anyone using the "Long" brand of shifters?
