If this is the case... then real simple... yell a couple of curse words into the phone hang up. Do not try again :P Order from another company or person.   I was looking through their catalog a few days ago pondering who to order some fenders and numerous other items for my 68. After these posts... I won't order from them... that it unfair, illegal, and all around screwing the customer. I would much rather deal with someone else.   Mikey - Original Message - From: Trooper Sent: Thursday, October 17, 2002 6:17 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [Chevelle-List] Ground Up follows trend  I also checked Ground Up's website and the prices for the items are thesame as in the book. RE: [Chevelle-List] alternater problems

2002-10-17 Thread Chevelle 69
Bob,
what amperage Alternator did you buy? Other than the lights burning
out...which..if they were the originals..and you had a higher output
alternator Just might have been possible.

Other than that most of what you say there COULD possibly be pretty
normal. When you let a battery sit for a long time it will slowly lose
it's charge. If the alternator cranks to try to recharge it (as
indicated by your slow crank speed), and you go turning on lights and
other things you are asking that alternator to crank out a lot of
juice. It's going to be normal for it to get fairly hot.

If you have a multi-meter, put it on "amps" or "current" and put one
lead on the battery terminal and the other on the battery cable after
you disconnect it. That should show you if there is anything drawing
current still.

Any chance you converted to an internally regulated alternator and still
have the old regulator in the circuit?

You might want to have the alternator tested. Most parts stores test
them these days for free.

Help Guys,
Tonight I started my Chevelle after it sat for a couple months (been in
storage). It turned over kinda slow then fired and I noticed the lights
were kinda bright and the amp meter (stock gauge) was nearly pegged. I
turned on the high beams and they went out. When I got home I checked
the battery voltage with the car running and it was over 15 volts and
the alternator was too hot to touch. The lights had power to the
sockets on high and low beam but there wasn't continuity on the high
beam side of the
lamps themselves. Must have blown the head lamps! The alternater is a
nearly new SI series, could something have happend to the regulator to
make run at "full charge" . I also noticed when I disconnected the
ground from the battery I got a spark. Nothing was drawing current that
I could tell so I disconnected the 2 wire alternator plug and rechecked
and then there was no current draw. What gives, any ideas? I guess
I'll pull it tomorrow and take it back to the parts store and have it
tested but I have never seen a problem like this before. Any and all
input (no pun intended) would be appreciated as to what is going on and
how did it happen . Thanks Bob Belz 71 SS454

[Chevelle-List] UPDATE ON Blower not working.

2002-10-17 Thread Brian Zack
Last week I had the problem of the blower fan motor not working. Last
weekend I went in and traced the power and found out that the ground tab on
the motor wasn't making a good connection. I cleaned the connection of the
tab where it scres on to the motor mounting flange and also ran an extra
ground wire to a better spot on the mounting flange and it works like a
charm again. Just wanted to update everyone in case you wanted to know.

I can understand a business not up dating their
catalog for every price change but there is no reason their web site should not
reflect the price changes.

  Exactly. If you
don't have the right price published, sell it at the published price. There is
wy too much of this going on, particularly with respect to the
  internet.

My .02 cents says advertising one price and sell at a
higher price by anyone, any company is call  Bait and Switch. This is

ASK for Nino or Ken... if they arent available hang up and call
