I actually live in San Antonio.  I have a '67 Chevelle
SS.  Bought original '67 plates ($35 at a swap meet) for it and
registered it that way.  If you register the car as an antique you don't
need to get it inspected and it only costs around 60 buck for 5 years.
There is a mileage limit on that though (I believe it's around 1500 a year or
so).  If you register it as a "classic" you have unlimited mileage, but
will need to get the car inspected every year.

Hope this helps.  Just let me know if you need any more
  information.

Don’t know if you’re looking for an
enclosed or open hauler, but I recently used an outfit called Fine Things
Auto Carriers, based out of Oklahoma.Nice people (husband and wife
team), open 3 or 4 car hauler, fast, reliable, friendly, with competitive
pricing.  They also gave me daily updates when they had my car in the
road.Hauled a non-op car from central Illinois to Los Angeles in 5
days (with 2 weeks advance notice) for $950.  An operable car would
have been $150 less.  Payment is COD when they deliver your car...no
deposit (unlike a lot of shippers I talked to).Give Shannon a call
(she handles the business side of things) and tell her Kurt from Rosemead,
CA sent you (‘64 Malibu Convertible).  She’ll give you a quote then and
there on the phone.http://www.finethingsac.com/Don’t try to
email them for a quote...best to call, since they always seem to be on the
road.I’d use them again in a heartbeat.Good luck with the

I got it to work. You just have to click the Carfax logo on the page the
link takes you to, then enter the info. You have to enter your email
address & VIN in the opposite order from what they tell you to, or it won't
work. The free Carfax only goes until midnight tonight, so you'd better
hurry if you're interested.

RE: [Chevelle-List] Clutch/Starter Interlock Switch

2003-02-23 Thread Dale McIntosh
Didn't see anyone get back to you on this so I'll give it a shot.
"Easiest" way is relative of course, but I used a Summit Ford-type
solenoid and it makes it a snap to connect a bump switch to. No more
trying to clamp the GM solenoid behind the headers.

See http://www.chevellestuff.com/tech/ford_solenoid.htm; jumper clips go
on B & S - couldn't be easier.

By interlock switches, you mean where the clutch had to be depressed
before the ignition would turn on? Believe it was 68 or 69; not sure.
I've only owned one Chevelle newer than a 67 in 30+ years and it was a
69 w/TH400. Your 64 shouldn't have that problem.

no, its all stock.. the problem is that it moves in

Can you trim the inner fender lip?  When I trimmed my Elky, I

As for me,I'm waiting to see the new Goodmark cowl

I have put on a few American Thunder

I have never used a hange on A body car, in
  the collector area.
Just the factory type at the rear exit of
the muffler and from the frame At the tail pipe area.
I have used two methods  of securing the collector extension to the H
  pipe.
One  cut to length and fit. tac weld and
remove and  then weld solid,  and  the other,
the full circle stainless steel  BAND

But IMO you need no hanger at the collector

I'm in the middle of installing new headers and Flowmaster exhaust
system on my '71 350 Malibu. The Hedman instructions say you should have an
exhaust hanger near the header collector. The American Thunder exhaust
doesn't come with a hanger in that location, and my old header system didn't
have a hanger there either.

Should I mount new hangers near the header collectors?  If
so, should they go on the transmission cross member?

Donnie,

If
you're looking for an easy radio only or radio/cassette replacement, there are a
lot out there that fit the factory bezel and don't look too out of place and
just about all Chevelle parts suppliers carry them - the "Custom Autosound" make
comes to mind but I'm sure there are others.  If you want a CD player
and/or something a bit more modern, it's custom installation time as these are
usually more squared off and flat (like 78 >) model
Chevelles.

[Chevelle-List] Re: RADIATOR

2003-02-23 Thread Cecil \"Steve\" Martin

I got
mine for $165. It's a new 4 core in the factory box. I am sure you'd have to pay
shipping in addition, but you will be getting the right thing. This guy has been
working with our club members to start specializing in Chevelle Radiators. Mine
is NOT factory original for show. There is a heater hose outlet not in the
original radiator. But it's new, it is a 4 row, and looks like it fits well.

This
guy is willing to do custom stuff for aluminum radiators and tig welded in some
brackets on my buddies aluminum radiator for his 65. He also does Air
Conditioning, but I haven't talked to him about it yet for my car. I will
probably see if he can do my Vintage Air when I buy it. It's a small mom and pop
shop so you get custom personal service and he's willing to do business
with anyone in any state. Not sure about out of the country. He doesn't have a
web site or e-mail that I know of. I may need to work on his about that. So
you have to call him.

Hey Clint,
I stopped by space 749 yesterday to try to catch ya several times, but you were out shopping I think. Sorry we didn't get to meet. Did ya find anything good?
I was looking for an ac dash for my 66. No luck, didn't see much chevelle parts. Lots of mud!
I did buy an Italian moped for $225. (it runs good) my girls love it. I'm the hero around here for a while now! LOL
   Talk to ya later,
Dan

yep, Clint is right, if you dont find the hinges I
might have a set of 1968's (not sure)somewhere that I'm willing to change
for your 1969's (I'm in your opposite situation, having a nice 1969 hood waiting
to go on my 1968)
shipping would be an issue from europe
thogh-

let me know what you think.

i found me a hood, it cost me 152
bucks,  and it only has a few dents not bad, its a 68 chevelle
hood,  can anyone tell me, will i need 68 hinges  to mount on my 69
body or do i use 69 hinges, boy that was a real muddy mess, and so many people
there, and the only people making the bucks was for parking spaces,
  thanks    James
