Actually, I had the price wrong, my friend wants $800. It was originally a V8 (I think), A/C car but the engine and trans are gone. The body isn't perfect (of course) but the only really bad rust is the rear quarters - they'll most likely need to be replaced. The floor pans and windshield frame is in much better condition than mine were when I started. That's about all I know about it. If you're seriously interested I'll forward your email to my friend. stuff for 68's! Like dash bezels, etc. It seems much harder to get stuff for 68's than for any other year. Don --- Ok guys, got a question. We are currently researching the needs of aftermarket and reproduction parts for Chevelle. I would appreciate some input from you as to what need you see and what suggestions you may have. Though we specialize in clock, gauge and cluster repair and restoration, we are always looking for ways to ease the hobby. Please let me know what you think. Ok, now I'm getting two copies of each message and both are coming from the same address. Are we suppose to unsubscribe from the original list? Guess I missed some of the instructional thread. Title: Message Agree on the '68 stuff. They've been left out far too long. I don't have one but it seems like they are like the '67s were a few years ago...almost nothing available. Guys can't build 'em if they can't get g-o-o-d repro parts. If you build it, they will come. [Chevelle-list] Increasing numbers of Chevelles on the road
Title: Message This reminds me of something I have been thinking about. I am wondering just how many Chevelles are being restored to put on the road that haven't seen the road in a while? I wonder how many are being saved, that would have otherwise ended up in the junk yard like some other non-classic models. I know that in my club almost half of the members have cars that are not yet on the road. While mine was supposedly "on the road" when I bought it .it wouldn't start for me and I had to have it towed. Even if they are "on the road" some guys are taking them off to do a restore project of some extent. Bottom line is, I wonder how many more Chevelles will be on the road a year or two from now than are currently being driven? I think the numbers are increasing dramatically. We seem to have new clubs spring up, more and more Chevelles at shows, more and more guys restoring them, and more and more youngsters getting into restoring Elkies and Chev_L's. The future looks bright! Maybe GM will give us Chevelle Owners some respect and consideration in the future huh? Title: Message I'm hoping everyone's working on their Chevelles and El Caminos around here,,'cause I sure don't see many '64-72 Chevelles around here on the street, anymore. I do see quite a few stock or mildly modified El Caminos but all of them are pretty plain-vanilla. The majority of the Chevelles I do see in this area, are pure drag cars. RE: [Chevelle-list] Information wanted
A digital tach that looks similar to, or functions similar to, an analog tach. Tubular upper A arms (tall spindle upgrade) that are REASONABLY priced. Same with lowers. Metal hood scoops ( may have them out there..I haven't looked too hard yet ) More cold air induction options Chromed metal grill options to replace plastic ones. A serpentine pulley system that includes air conditioning and doesn't turn the water pump backwards...for a big block. Custom valve cover lettering design Custom interior options. Such as..you pick the material and design from several and they build it to fit. Custom consoles. I am sure I can think of more ...but that's enough for now. Re: [Chevelle-list] Information wanted
Baer is coming out with a tall spindle of their own design later this year that will keep the pros of the upgrade and eliminate the cons. The other custom stuff you want can probably be done by a talented builder near you. What city and state do you live?
