Hey All,

To give you guys an update, I decided not to box the frame on my '69. I
decided instead to buy a sturdier transmission crossmember from G Force
Performance. It came the other day and looks like a nice piece. Here's a
pic: http://www.geocities.com/gforcejohn/new_products.htm It's really
heavy duty and I liked the exhaust reliefs since I plan on lowering my car.

By the way, I just got my frame back from the powder coater last week. It
looks good! Should be able to start putting it back together soon!

Thanks for asking. No I haven't been able to find a replacement tach for my
69. I have been trying for 2 months now to get my original back from the
landlord who was funding James Spradlings operation (he was also a partner).
He has all the stuff boxed and in storage and won't release any of it. I
sent him a certified letter and he called and said he would look for it but
that was Jan 6th and I have tried to call him three times since and he won't
answer his phone. I have heard from good sources that Spradling may be at it
again in the Chattanooga area so watch out. I have tried to call the States
Attorney down there about ten times and have yet to talk to him. I just keep
leaving messages. It all just really S*cks.

Someone asked over the weekend why I removed the hood to get the
booster/master cylinder in.

There are four studs that mount the assembly to the firewall. I could
wrench on the outer two leaning over the fender. The inner two, I couldn't
get to. The booster blocked access from the front.

My solution was to remove the hood, and lay across the bottom of the
windshield, and wrench from the top. I was in a foul mood at the time, so a
rational person may have found a better way. Removing the hood wasn't bad,
it just required the assistance of my wife, who acted like I had asked her
to eat dirt (interrupting her "mission critical" activities for my "hobby"
always gets her going).
