[Chevelle-list] Re: Interior supplyer ? (Thanks !)
Thanks Guys for all the help. I ordered my stuff today from True Connections. Only thing is now I need a good rear seat bottom for a 2 door 66 chevelle (mine is rusted). I have a good rear seat bottom from a 4 door, but they have a large curved side instead of the sqaure front area. I dont think they seat cover will fit. Any ideas where to get one? Again thanks so much for the heads up about True Connections. i have ordered from True Connections as well - and all was well!!!Harlan

RE: [Chevelle-list] shocks for 65 chevelle???
Fair enough; and mine. GM shows different shocks for 64-67 (3192955) and 68-72 (3188931 and 3192974 for HD) Chevelles. KYB (Monroe) lists specs as: Compressed length: 64-67 is 9.625" ~ 68-72 is 8.625" Extended length: 64-67 is 15.125" ~ 68-72 is 13.375" Length traveled: 64-67 is 5.5" ~ 68-72 is 4.75" Stem: 64-67 is 5/16" and 2 3/16" ~ 68-72 is 5/16" and 2 7/16" Apparently Hotchkis has found a way to make the same shock fit all A-body 64-72 cars and still work where nobody else has. [Chevelle-list] Anyone have a 283-220hp engine?
Anyone have one of these engines in a 64 or 65? I'm interested in finding out a couple things. My 4 dr has a 283 w/ a 2BV Rochester, car has a Powerglide. Plan is for a Edelbrock SP2P with a 390 or 450 Holley vac sec carb. Probably a Pertronix ignition conversion. Looks like the exhaust manifolds for 283 w/ 2 bbl and those with 4 bbl are the same except for the choke heat tube? (Meaning I can keep my manifolds, won't need the tube, and btw not interested in headers) Did the 4 bbl cars still use the same heat riser valve on the right side manifold? I figure on 2" pipes with something resembling stock mufflers or quiet turbo mufflers; but not sure what to say if the muffler guy asks about an "H" pipe. Might help power a bit but not sure how that would effect sound. Objective is nice running car with no bad habits. ie; runs and starts in cold weather, decent mileage, idles, etc. Pete Geurds Douglassville, PA
