[Chevelle-list] Wiper Motor Delay

2005-01-22 Thread Rick Schaefer
After years of aggrevation & annoyance because the wiper motor did
not have enuff variable speeds, I added a delay wiper system to my
72 last week. Used motor & switch from an 80 camaro. Some details &
linxto pix are here:
http://www.chevelles.com/cgi-bin/forum/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/39/170.html?
Maybe it was just my old original worn out motor, but the hi speed
is now much faster than with the old setup. As you can see, there
are several ways to make it work. Now if we'd only get some rain.

Re: [Chevelle-list] starter trouble (ghost in the machine)

2005-01-22 Thread Copocloner
thanks everyone for there help, i will check out your guys suggestions,, this is all stock setup, i think what i did wrong was, i made my own starter heat shield, from fiberglass and metal tape, i think i made  my own little loop in the circuit,  , when i  try to crank and it continue  to  run away with itself, i pull the cable from the batt., and the loop ends there is no  power drain from the batt until i try again, so IM going to pull the heat shield off and see if that cures my problem, i hope i don't have to pull the sucker, i have a newer corvette do the same thing  i replace the starter and that  fix  that problem, but i think i cause my own problem with the chevelle,, thanks again  for all your advice, i let you all know what the deal is when figure it out.  Rick

RE: [Chevelle-list] Dixco Tach Question

2005-01-22 Thread crobertson1

I try to get a picture.  The tach is an
8000 rpm with a black background and with letter. If does have HT/X Dixco Tach on it.  The bottom of the tach
has two screw heads, one on each side of the metal type plate.  Coming out of the plate are four wires,
red, black, white, yellow.  Id like
to test if before selling, do you know what wire goes where?  Thanks for your help.

Tach Question

The Dixco Hood Tach was used on the
1970 Yenko Deuce Nova LT1 but was also used by many others.  Dixco
marketed the tach though Ford and MoPar dealers and also had their own sales
network. The tachs had different faces and different logos. For example the Yenko
tach had a black face with "Yenko" logo on the face. If you have a
picture of it I may be able to ID it.

A friend of mine has a Dixco Hood
Tach. that he believes was used only on Yenko Nova’s. Is there anyway to
check this out?  Thanks
